new messages from nl
‘new messages from the netherland’ is an exhibition introducing architecture and design from the netherlands that have attracted global attention and examining the underlying design methodology. rather than merely offering visitors a lineup of eye-grabbing pieces, this exhibition aims to explore the new values that dutch design is communicating to the world by analyzing their sociocultural background. to make an identity for this exhibition, i used the typeface ‘history’ designed by peter bilak, which is based on a skeleton of roman inscriptional capitals. it has 21 independent typefaces which share widths and other metric information that makes the layers combined. the flexibility inside rigid structure scheme represents the concept of the creative process of designs in the netherlands.
